step 2: pre-reading

before reading, introduce venus williams and serena williams to students. they are sisters and are both tennis players. venus won her 45th gold medal in 2014. serena was the highest-paid female athlete of the year 2021. then let students predict what this passage mainly talks about.

step 3: while-reading

1. fast reading

read this passage for students. tell them to check whether their predictions are right or not, and answer one question:
