夜晚的谜
mystery 就是 “神秘的事物”
something that is difficult to understand or to explain
look at the front cover,
what do you think chip is holding in his hand?
it’s a little pot.
what’s in it?
surger? salt? pepper?
or anything else?

lantern 灯笼，提灯
lantern 这个词语我们应该挺熟悉的，
元宵节就叫做 lantern festival
万圣节的那个南瓜灯呢，叫做 jack-o’-lantern

chip 在丝绸之路上的一家客栈里，解决了一个谜题。
solve 解决 solve a mystery 破解了一个谜。

因为胡椒瓶撒了，
所以孩子们开始打喷嚏了。

爷爷为什么要去拿扫帚啊？

这是一个生活小常识，如果把胡椒粉吸进鼻子里，多半会让你打喷嚏。

they were on the dusty silk road outside an old inn.
他们在布满灰尘的 dusty 丝绸之路 silk road。
在一家老客栈的外面。

jiabin 说：这是雪花客栈。
petal 就是 “花瓣”

再来复习一下 一群 的用法：
一群牛，一群羊，一群鸭子，一群疯子……
虽然都是用 “群”，英文里就不一样了，不同的对象，搭配不同的单词。

why didn’t travellers stay in yuyan’s inn?
“those who stay cannot sleep.”

wail means “to make a long loud high cry because you are sad or in pain”

“travellers who stay keep their things safe here,” said yuyan.
