2.表示选择

?or： Tea or coffee?

?either，，、or…: Either Tom or his brothers are coming.

3.表示对比、转折

?but/yet: It is a painstaking but rewarding experience.

He prepared for a long time, but he didn’t pass.

?while/whernas: We are studying while others are playing.

?not… but…:Hamlet is not a novel, but a drama.

It’ s not that I dislike the task, but that I am unable to do it.

4.表示因果

?for: We must get rid of carelessness, fbr it often leads to errors.

?so: I was vety tired, so I stopped reading.

二、连接副词

有些副词也起承接作用，使上下文逻辑通顺，意思连贯。但严格来讲，它们前面

应当是句号或者是分号。由于它们不是连词，故前面还可以是逗号+and

?转折:

contrarily, however, inversely, conversely, oppositely,

yet

?并列:

likewise, similarly, equally, correspondingly

?结果:

therefore, thus, hence, accordingly, consequently,

?让步:

nevertheless, though
