条条大路通罗马，英语中“Road”的说法~

情歌天后梁静茹的一曲《路》道出了人们总会在生命中经过许多条路。有些为自己追逐，有些为别人停驻。
其实人生远不止一条“road”，在英文中关于“路”也有很多种不同的说法，让我们边走边学吧～
1. road：路，公路，马路，道路

you’ll see the library a bit further up the road.
沿这条路再往前走一点就能看到图书馆。
2. street：街道
their aim is to raise a million dollars to get the homeless off the streets.
他们的目的是募集100万美元以使无家可归者不再流浪街头。
3. avenue：特指南北方向的街道
fifth avenue美国纽约的第五大道

注意：
road ,street 与avenue都有路的意思，但它们的含义各有不同：
street主要是指村落或都市中两边有房屋的街道或马路。
road常指城市或乡村之间可供车辆或行人通过的宽阔而又平坦的大路，这种路两旁有无房屋皆可。
avenue 主要指宽阔而繁华的林荫大街，两旁有着华丽的住宅或林立的建筑物。
4. alley：胡同，小巷

she found the side alley where the stage door was located.
她找到了剧场后门所在的小巷。

path：小路、轨道

follow the path along the river to the bridge.
沿着河边的小路走到那座桥。
6. circle：圆形道路，比如开车会经过的环岛
